Making Newspaper Flower Pots

 Ever wondered how to make those neat little newspaper planting pots? Well, keep reading! And best of all; no special or expensive tools are required.

It is easy to make recycled newspaper pots; all a person needs is a stack of old paper, water, and a way to shred, mix, and mold it all together!

Supplies

    * Shredded Paper

    * Water

    * A dollop of non-toxic craft glue (optional)

    * 2 nesting containers the size of the finished pot

Getting Started - Making Newspaper Flowerpots

An easy way to shred a whole lot of paper is to get sharp, sturdy scissors (or even a fabric cutter) and form a small pile of paper. Cut this paper into thin, manageable strips and set aside.

In a large bowl; mix together water, glue, and the paper strips. The mixture should be a little bit soupy; but not thin. (Think paper mache.)

How to Create a Miniature Fairy Garden

  A simple tutorial on creating a beautiful, long lived miniature fairy garden. A great project for both kids and adults alike!

Supplies for Creating a Miniature Fairy Garden

    * A decorative or plain terracotta dish.

    * Well draining, good quality potting soil.

    * Slow release fertilizer

    * Silica (water) crystal (optional - but recommended)

    * Small leafed plants (try looking for weeds in your lawn!)

    * Bonsai tree (optional but recommended)

Planting the Miniature Fairy Garden

After adding potting soil to the desired depth start placing the plants in an appealing manner. There really is no wrong way to do it; but staggering different heights really makes the garden seem more "real". Even weeds from a person's yard can seem like a unique centerpiece plant in a small miniature garden.
